I thought Transit was going to come over in the next couple years. Didn't someone post an article about it a couple months ago?

If those pictures are the direction Ford is heading w/ their vans it's kind of what Dodge did w/ theirs-I worked in this one back in 2003 for a few months. This was a Freighliner Sprinter (also made w/ the Mercedes and Dodge Nameplate)

Dodge can't sell more than 20,000 Sprinters each year. I don't think Ford would be happy with that number (since sales of E-Series are ~170,000 each year).

Nice I like it, looks like they are really starting to realize that some of the European designs are worth bringing over. Now just bring the Euro Focus and we will be set.

We're getting the small Transit van, not the large one. Though, at the dealer show, they did have the large Transit there, so maybe they will bring the larger one here too.

How big is the small Transit Van as compared to the current Vans (E-150-E-350)? Since my company uses the E-350 Super Duty Vans converted into ambulances I'm curious if this is what we have to look forward to in a few years.

I really don't think it's going to be here for 08 based on the picture posted at the top of the thread since from the front doors back it looks like nothing has changed, but it looks like a new grill and lights are coming next year.

One more thing, do you happen to have any pictures of the interior and rear of the Transit Van?

Thanks for the information

I think that Ford would bring the Euro-Style Vans and replace the current E-Series they would still sell lots of them for the following reasons-
The majority of ambulance providers (municipal and private) use Ford Vans that have been converted into ambulances (I know of only one private company in my area that use Chevys, and a couple of other companies have mostly Fords w/ a couple of Sprinters in their fleets.

As I said in another post I worked in a Sprinter for a few months when the company bought a couple of them for testing, and I really liked working in it. More space in the back, handled well and had a smooth ride.

Really small. I saw many of them when I was in Europe in 2005.
