2008 Crown Victoria Special Edition: Spy Report
Dont get your hopes up to far Arin.. I looked on the media site and theres nothing about a 2008 Crown Vic under production models. Heck I cant find any pics or anything for anything other than 07 and there isnt really and pics that are different than the last 7 years for that model.
Hey hey hey, only real Ford reprasentatives are allowed to crush my dreams Scott
Ah well, my dad probably wouldnt have traded anyhow. Plus it matches the Bullitt
Still.. it would be nice for ford to have a FUN rwd sedan again... on this continent

I did see the Tarus listed under 08
I still don't understand why Ford won't put the 3V 4.6 in the Crown's. It is lighter, (by a lot) makes a lot more HP and Torque, is more fuel efficient, and is much greener emissions wise (for the environmental types). Sure it might cost Ford an extra $100 per car, but that would be more than worth it for an extra 2mpg and 60 more HP.

You don't think Ford would absorb that cost increase do you? They would pass it on to the consumer. And I'm sure 1mpg increase would totally light up the ears of a fleet like say...Las Vegas PD, with 600+ cars. Even at $150 extra, that mpg savings would pay for itself over a year or two.
yea say the car did 100,000 miles at 20mpg. thats 5000gallons if the car did 21 mpg it would have used 4761gallons. so 239gallon savings at say $3 a gallon. so $717 a car. so 600 cars are saving $430,200
Looking back at what Steve said, it wouldn't even take ONE year to pay for itself. It would take about 2.5 months to pay for itself!
Of course, this is assuming they replace ALL their CVPIs at once, a tad unlikely. Still, great figure for ad campaigns :P
We should work for Ford

I agree. We should work for Ford. I mean, why doesn't Ford do this...it would certainly be a GREAT selling point for the CV's over the Chargers or Impalas to the many police agencies. We all would love more power, and better mileage would be a big bonus too! Just think of how many small sedans have 225-250hp....and weigh like 2,000lbs less than the CV. It's getting harder and harder to keep up with the average Camry and Accord, and that is just sad.
Heck, I got outrunned a few months back by a friggin V6 Ford Escape. Granted, he had AWD and the roads were a little wet while racing block to block in downtown area. Still...an ESCAPE?!?! I was so ****ed.
