I think I just freaked. Lemme check.
Yep, I did.
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???
That giant hunk of chrome unneccessarily slapped on the leading edge of the hood wrecked an otherwise outstanding new SUV. Without it, GREAT...With it, I am sorry, the car is just ugly. I can't wait to see the comparisons of the equally as ugly new Escalade, at least GM gave their luxury model an engine upgrade. I am really dissapointed.

From Edmunds:

Crazy grill, and crazy headlights too... looks like there could be at least a couple LEDs in there. I think the tail lights are awesome... Very distinctive yet very handsome too. They make me think again about disliking the Z's tailights, but i still think those ones are too close together.
Its a ridiculous market segment, in my opinion, but its a market nonetheless, and I think Lincoln will do well with this truck. This seems like what Ford is talking about when they say they're gonna have a lot of bold 'american' designs.
oh ya... under the skin? Its pretty much all the same as the expedition. 5.4L, 300hp, 365lb-ft. Seems like not much, but its also got the 6 speed tranny. These guys are probably both due for some kind of upgrade to the powertrain in a couple years. GM's building hybrid Tahoes and Escalades, I'd love it if Ford followed suit.
oh man... that's cool, in this post, i originally ended it after "bold 'american' designs" and then added another post right after instead of editing it, but the site automatically just attached my two posts (and i'm guessing this third one as well) together. Cool!
and (post #4) my messing around with this business makes it look like kevin beat me to it! Cause now it says the thread started at the time of my latest addition to this increasingly ridiculous post! darn you Kevin!

Oh god. That just might be the ugliest grille I've ever seen.
But with the MKX and now this, I think Lincoln's "design language" is a bit confusing, since the Mark LT and the MKZ have the (much bolder and more attractive) waterfall grille.
I had great hopes that the revamped Navigator would truly be an Escalade-killer. dangit.

I think the theme is waterfalls for the cars, and eggcrate for the trucks. I like it, especially in pearl white, or maybe tungsten would look sweet. I think it needs a little more chrome myself, like the door handles and the rear liftgate trim panel.

And they'd have more than enough to work with if they'd rip that crap off the bumper!

I know you can't trust PR photos, so even though it's initially not a good look to me, this photo gives me a little hope:
Since the grille comes to a nice point, hopefully seeing it in person will help dissuade some of the ickiness. After all, it's the appearance of "flatness" in the photos that make it look so bad, IMHO.

NO! you see my topic actually went up like a minute before yours, but i added a bunch of replies later on and it just merged with my original post, and changed the time of my post. I swear i was first! Give ME the 10,000 dollars!
I agree about the grills, its waterfall for cars and egg crate for trucks, i wonder if the LT will get a new grill.
When i was in detroit, some dude on TV, like an analyst or somebody, was criticizing Lincoln for coming out with cars with different grills. He was like, we don't know where their going. That annoyed me, first of all... this whole corporate grill thing is kinda new, once upon a time you didn't have to have all your cars with the same darn grill. Secondly, i think Lincoln's doing it a cool way, with the two different grills for cars and trucks. Adds variety while still keeping some family resemblance.

Seems like more and more the "upper" SUVs are coming standard with more and more bling.
I'm not digging the speedo and tach...they look more like clocks than gauges.

The front looks like some kind of Japanese robot "face". Wouldn't be surprised if this thing could transform as well. At least the aftermarket can make a killing selling grilles for this thing.
