Just preferences I guess.
Couldn't of said it better myself.

I bought my Saleen in 1999 because I loved the body style and power. I originally wanted a 99 Cobra but they weren't supercharged.

Imagine my surprise when the 03 Cobra came out. I test drove one in 04 and tried everything short of getting on my knees to work a deal to get that car. I picked up a Mach 1 instead.

Years later, I still browse eBay looking for a cherry 04. It's hard to find one that isn't molested, beat up, or abused. They are the crowning jewel to the Mustang legacy IMO.

That made my day haha. I about died laughing. And no, I can't blame you though. They're monsters.

Indeed sir. Like I said before in the thread. They're out there. But they're becoming a unicorn, if you will.

I have a lightly modified 03 Cobra, just rolled 36000 miles. Love it. I wouldn't buy one to daily drive though. Seems just wrong to take one of Gods greatest gifts to mankind to commuter duty.

I bought mine from the 1st owner little over 2 years ago, car was completely stock and had just over 30k miles. Guy was in his 60's and I would believe him that when he said it wasn't abused. Car is mint.

I probably define abuse different then some but I take my car to the track and race it but take very good care of it. I don't think its abuse to drive it like it was built for. If you did that and didn't do proper maintenance I would say it is abused.

I think my abuse concerns are more cosmetic. I understand wear and tear but then there's just neglect. In grad school, our dean owned a silver 04. It had dents, scraped up front fascia, smokers stains, missing grill emblem, cracked headlight, and spidered window. This was in 07! Imagine it now.

Then there's those people who do unthinkable things to the car. Clear tail lights, fart cans, Oakley sticker occupying the whole back window...

That's abuse. Yes, I've seen more examples of this than you'd expect.

I had an 03 OW Cobra. It was a great car and got lots of attention. It had 603RWHP and was very reliable. I would love to have another some day. If you go to svtperformance.com there is plenty for sale on there.

The fastest car I've ever driven was a modded Cobra 03. (Next to the GTR)... Surprisingly followed by a modded Lightning.

I want a silver, yellow, or black.

Mortgage, student loans, wife, and hungry kid keeping me from this. Haha

I'm super late to this thread but I have some thoughts.

1. I think the 03-04 Cobra has the best seats ever put in a mustang. Hold you in place and super comfy (2010-12 GT not so much)

2. Looks are subjective, last I remember nobody complained about the 1999-04 Mustang when they were new they didn't have the hideous rear that Ford was forced to redesign after just 3 model years.

3. The Cobra is a more durable car, how many of you 5.0 guys blew up your Chinese 6 speeds and destroyed your #8 cylinder because of a tune?

4. The 2003-04 clutch pedal was designed by Satan and would make for a terrible daily driver.

5. I find this a hard comparison because a new 2013 GT is going to cost WAY more than an 03-04 Cobra
