Wheel Spacers
I am New to the site... and recently purchased a 2000 GT Conv. When I bought the car it already had 18" Cobra R wheels on it. I was noticing that the front tires stick out a little futher than the back. Was thinking of putting wheel spacers on the back to widen them.
Was wondering if anybody else has noticed this problem, and would wheel spacers do the trick??
Any info would be GREAT!!
Thanx

Welcome to the site!
It depends on how far you want to stick the tires out. You can get some small spacers from places like pep boys, but dont go anything over 1/4" as you wont have enough threads on the stud to safely get your lug nut back on.
If you are wanting 1" or so, check out http://www.maximummotorsports.com. I believe they carry the H&R hub centric spacers, which you bolt onto your stock studs and then they have more studs coming out to bolt the wheel to.

I have a 2004 mustang GT and i learned a hard lesson with wheel spacers.
I have eibach sportline springs put on a few months ago and was saving up for new shocks and struts for this fall. I had a set of 1 3/4 inch spacers i bought off maximum motorsports and they look so good on the car i didn't want to wait for the new parts so i put them on.
anyways the tires rubbed more than i expected (sportline are pretty low)and a bit of the tire on the driver side got ripped off from scraping on the outside fender. So either don't get as wide spacers , although they look incredibly aggresive -or make sure you either keep your stock suspension or do full suspension.
Don't go halfway!
Just letting you all know that i have no complaints about the spacers - they are great.
