Whats the best year SN95 body.

If I were to switch to an SN95 which year has the most potential? I like the 1994 but I also like the 2004 Mach1. It seems there’s so much you can do with any of them. Also what years offer the IRS just out of curiosity?

Im thinking of upgrading to a later year coupe. ~GrnT.

99+ Cobras have IRS.

There are too many awesome looking cars to really settle on just one of the 94-04's.

Yeah, and the 03-04s were supposed to be tougher

however any IRS is a bolt in swap to any other SN95

I'd go with a Mach 1!

I'm kinda partial to the '01 Bullitts myself, especially if you're going to keep it mostly stock, but if you plan to modify it a bunch, I'd pick any 1999-04 GT. The Machs and 1999/2001 Cobras have been dropping in price lately too, and it would be hard to go wrong with either of those.

If you can afford one, I'd suggest getting an 03-04 Cobra. These are the cream of the crop for the SN95. Others are nice but no other SN95 can touch the level of performance of these 03-04 Cobras. The best bargain out there is probably a 99 GT. I have seen low mile 99-00 GTs sell for 7-8k. The 94-98 cars arn't all that powerful and expensive to modify, it seems like the after market didn't catch up until the 99' model.

Good luck with your search, i'm doing the opposite of you, i'm looking for an 05' GT!

If you want IRS, power and the most potential than a 03-04 Cobra is the easy choice. The Mach1 is also an excellent choice but it lacks the IRS and can't handle mods as well as the Cobra with it's forged internals. I have close to 460RWHP on my car (about the same as most current GT500s) and my car still runs like a bone stock car. It is common to reach 700HP with the stock block, this car is truly amazing and really suggest that you get something that either surpasses or equals your current car's performance level.

The only way I'd go is 03-04 Cobra, 03-04 Mach1 or 01 Cobra anything else would seem like a step down from your current car's performance.

Do you have a particular price range?

It’s going to be some time saving money. Last time I spent too much purchasing the car, leaving not much room for Mods or change. This time I'm going to look for something with fare miles and a lower price tag. That way cost would not be an issue for some goodies. I also like the fact that you can put some serious tires under the wheel wells as apposed to the s197.

I'm partial!

I like them all, but I agree with 97GT. The Terminators are fantastic machines . . . but I still like my Mach. I also like a clean 96-98 Cobra and the Bullitt.

I like the 2001 Bullitt. Should be reasonable. I've seen a local one with some serious meat out back and some nice sounding headers or exhaust on it. Looks better than stock Bullitt, but I've never been able to get a picture of it.

I've always wanted to build an R clone out of a 94-95

The Bullitt is one of the best lookin SN's out there Right up there with the Mach 1 (which has got to be the best lookin thing made in America until 04) The Termys and other IRS cobras are good looking too, but IMO below the Mach

So get a Mach or Bullitt and IRSify it Bullitts are epicly cheap right now. two years ago I got mine, with less than 8K miles for 15K, and I've seen em for about 10 now with 50Kish?

Which reminds me... why are you getting rid of the 06?

Wow beautiful car. I have a weak spot for orange Mustangs, my 1st Mustang was an '81 Mustang Cobra. Rather gutless (until the engine swap), but beautiful IMHO. I'd love to pick up an '04 orange Mach in a few years.
