Upgrade to Automatic, anyone try?

While surfing the internet trying to help my brother in law with his V6, I came across this http://www.vapauto.com/jmod.htm. Anybody with an auto try this? After reading it, I am considering it as cheaper alternative to a computer flash to help firm up my shift points.

Ive never heard anything about it. I have an auto to and wanted to do something to improve the trans. Ive heard a few different things about reflashing the computer.....mostly mixed reviews. Some say its great while others have said it kills the daily drive. Right now its my only car so I dont want to sacrifice ride quality for a slightly faster car. As far as this goes it would be interesting to see if its actually legit. If you find anything out let us know.

The people on 3.8mustang seem to swear by this. The web site says it also works with the GT. I was going to go ahead an order it, but my alternator, and battery just died so I had to use the money to replace those. Guess I'll have to wait until sometime next month to see about ordering it.

I haven't seen this site before but the J-mod is common. Basically it just amounts to drilling out about 10 holes in the seperator plate in the valve body to let more fluid flow through. Helps to correct lazy/slow shifts and firms them up. Trans guy that worked for Ford named Jerry came up with this modification.

Thanks Circuitbreaker for the update. Guess I'll give it a try when I can afford to order it.

There are a bunch of guys on StangNet who have done this, as well as on Sn95forums.com

If I had an auto, I'd have done it already.

Let us know how it feels
