Time for some new tires and a question

I need some new tires. I've had Fuzion ZRi for a long time in the 245/45ZR17 size, and have loved them. There inexpensive and have a nice tread life. I have gone through two sets of them. They now offer them in 255/45ZR17, and was wondering what people thought about a switch from 245 to 255. I currently have 17x9 Cobra Rs, and the car has been lowered about 1-1.5 inches. Also will there be any rubbing issue with these? When I first put on the current wheels and tires a few years ago there was some rubbing but it has since disapeared. When it did rub it only did when the steering wheel was turned all the way. Thanks for the help.

Thanks, for the help, hadn't thought about it altering the speedo, but it only does so 1.5mph over what the car had stock.

Has anyone here with a SN95 ever ran a 255 wide tire on a nine inch rim here?

I have a 95 GT. Right when I bought my used Cobra R rims, I had just had bought new tires. I had a 245/45-17. I used them on my 17x9 rims. It did not look right, but it worked! I now have 03 Cobras that I bought 275/40-17's for. Still 17x9's.

275/40/17 all the way around man. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but haven't got the wheels I want yet. I just threw a set of 245/45 Nankangs from Big-O on to get me through the winter. Not bad, but H-rated, meaning a lot less grip than I'm used to (coming from General Exclaim UHPs). 275/40s came standard on the 03-04 Cobra with the 17x9 wheels. They fit our cars fine. MAY rub a little in the front, but only when a full-lock turn, as in parking. They really fill out the wheel wells though.

I would, but I'm trying to stay the same on all four wheels.

Plus my V6 doesn't have enough torque to warrant that kind of traction on the rear.

I don't have enough $ to buy other than the same all around! I do it this way, so I can have them rotated.
