Thermostat replacement... Advice needed

Hi everyone.. I own a 2003 Mustang. Recently, I have noticed that the car is overheating when the engine is fired up. I never ever had such issues with my car. I have shown it in the car care center Service Plus in Etobicoke. They said that it is due to the faulty thermostat and they suggested the replacement of thermostat. Have you ever come across such problems? Will this issue can be completely resolved by thermostat replacement? Please do reply.

It's difficult to say given all we know is that your car overheats and you took it to a shop saying you thermostat is busted. Yes that is potentially the issue. No thatay not be the actual cause of the overheating. The ratatouille is fairly easy to replace so it's a good place to start.

A thermostat swap is pretty easy, so give it a try. It might be worth going with one of the lower temp thermostat as well, don't do too low on temp, otherwise it will overheat because the thermostat will never close.
