Shocks for Front Coilover Kit?
Shocks for Front Coilover Kit?
So I'm doing some suspension upgrading to get better launches at the track and hopefully some better 60 ft times.
So far I ordered a front coil over kit from UPR with 14-175 springs and MM CC plates. I'm pretty sure that I'm going with Strange 10 ways in the back but heard the fronts are noisy so I think I'm going with Lakewood 90/10's in front.
I have Eibach pro kit springs in now and was thinking of leaving the rears in. I see a lot of guys go with fox struts and shocks on lowered new edge cars, is that the way I should go? I want good weight transfer at the track but I also don't want to go back to the 4X4 look to get there. Do I need to go with fox struts in the front to keep it lower or will I be able to achieve the lower stance with the coilovers and new edge length struts?

New Edge struts on New Edge cars. The guys who are really low enough for it to matter should be running custom builts, which I'm sure you're not. Just go with standard New Edge struts and the MM CC's will keep you in an effective bump length for the strut.
I actually talked to Strange directly and they said if the car is going to run 1" or lower than stock, I should use the 87-93 shocks up front to prevent bottoming out and a lot of noise.
I have a little time so I might test fit eveything with the stock struts and see how the car sits.

From talking to MM they told me that since their CC plates mount the struts further up compared to stock plates that you should use 94-04 struts. I don't know, though. I would bank on Strange knowing the name of the game when it comes to straight line, but MM does a lot of R&D on their stuff too.
