Was it an OEM cable? That's really strange, even if it's aftermarket though.
Not that strange. I've seen it quite frequently. My friend with the red fox has snapped three, two of them in his first year of ownership, and all were UPR aftermarket cables. His main problem were his LT headers. He changed them for Flowtechs, but still having problems. He's dumping them for stockers the next time he has a chance, cause he's wasted almost $700 in the process.
so the only update I have is that I'm deeply considering putting her up sale. I'm getting kinda burnt out on the late-model scene. I'm an old-skool guy at heart so with '67-'68 prices still decent for a running one with decent metal, I'm seriously considering the jump

Lol Bullitt brakes for one. Don't you have Mach 1 seats too? Or was that someone else. Man...if I get a new job pretty soon I might just take her. I wonder how much it would take to get it smog legal in CA. Did you ever register it here, or you still running out of state plates?

The scenarios in my head right now
#1: Keep GT, retire from DD duty in August. Smog it, somehow lol and finish building her as intended
#2: Sell GT, switch to '67-'68, no smog. Can do all the cruise night stuff with my friends
#3: Sell GT, f it all, buy Terminator
Hah that's cool though. Free truck!
Yeah I know getting that thing smogged would be a b*tch, but if you sold it wouldn't you have to smog it? Or since it hasn't been registered in CA, maybe that rule doesn't apply? I'm at a crossroads too. I was about to buy a 2010/11 GT, but then I got a DUI and lost my job.
...so I probably won't be getting a new V8 Stang for a LONG time. So I was thinking once I get back on my feet, to get a new 2011 V6 and then retire my 2000 V6 to weekend show car status, and throw the books at it. Full Termie motor/transmission swap, IRS, etc etc. We'll see though.
If your car would be considered smog legal with some shortie and a catted midpipe, I would probably pick it up from you. But if the heads/cams make it not smog legal, then...lol good luck. Although I could pick up a low mileage stock 2V and just throw a blower on it maybe....hmmmm

I saw you cruising down Saratoga around 7 when I was coming off of 280. I heard the car long before I saw it. Knew it was you by those wheels. Car looks great as it sits.
today? I was at Toy Story 3 at that time... Unless it was around 4ish then that was me. Just got back from getting hired at Livermore Ford
I'll PM you my phone number, I'm around all weekend except the 4th

Yesterday. I'm pretty sure it was you... Unless someone else was repping the black 99-00 GT with bronze 10th anniversary wheels and a wicked cam.
