Removing Air silencer worth it?

Removing Air silencer worth it?
I have heard many stories that suggest that the removal of the air silencer can cause the intake to suck in warmer air from the engine bay and actually sap torque numbers. Also, if you live in a hot climate would it be worth it to do this mod?

got rid of mine before i got the CAI and its worth doing. even if you dont feel it or hear it, its worth it to remove a piece that is essentially worthless on principle alone. i dont like useless parts on my car
