Mustang maintenance
Hi everyone, I'm deciding what I am going to do with my 1997 GT. I have been all over the map on this one. This car is bullet proof reliable and is aging well. I'd like to get some suggestions from the more mechanically inclined members as far as restoring my car, if I decide to keep it.
It is pretty much stock except for a K&N cai and a Borla cat-back exhaust. It is on the brink of hitting 100k and runs well. I wonder what are some things I should do with this car to keep it running well and also things to make it feel/ride newer (it is finally starting to feel old)
I wonder what I can do to get rid of some of the squeaks and rattles. I also am thinking about putting in some new shocks, since the car is starting to ride much harsher than in the past. Would springs help with the ride too?
I figure I'm either going to buy my brother's 2010 GT or completely overhaul this one to make it last a little longer. Keep in mind this is a daily driver so performance mods are not my top priority.
What i'd like from the community is give me a run down of what you guys think the car probably needs or should get and approximate pricing for these "restoration" ideas. I've had the car since 1999 so I have grown quite sentimental of it.

Well, for what it's worth the factory maintenance schedule only says that spark plugs should be replaced and rear axle lubricant should be replaced at 100,000 miles. But that assumes that everything else in the maintenance schedule has been done at it's scheduled time.
New shocks and springs isn't a bad idea especially if the ride is starting to suffer Really I'd recommend taking the car to a mechanic that you trust who can give you an honest assessment of what needs to be replaced. However if you don't already know a mechanic like that finding one can be tough.
