Mid pipe

Hey all,

I'm going to be getting my exhaust done in the next couple weeks. I'm looking for your opinions. I am going to get an H pipe, I'm wondering if I should get a catted H, or an O/R? I will be mostly driving in town and have been told that catless will fry your plugs, if your in town driving mostly. I do want an exhaust that's fairly loud. I plan on getting flowmaster original 40's or the super 44's. Has anyone ran either of these? How did you like the sound. I've watched plenty of youtube video's, looking for personal opinions on either of those mufflers.

Any opinions appreciated.

Hey,

If you go through with this set up I really doubt you are going to be disappointed. One of my close friends had this exact set up with the super 40s on his 99 GT and it sounded awesome!

With the H pipe his 99 still had a deep rumble, even without the cats, and it was loud to say the least. I highly doubt you will go through plugs much quicker than they normally did and truly believe that is a very isolated problem.

I hope this helps, and if you have any questions, feel free to get in touch. Good luck!

If you don't have emissions to comply with go with the off-road h pipe as long as you are looking for loud. I've never ever heard of anyone having plug issue from a catless midpipe. Cats do nothing but clean up the exhaust gasses coming out the pipe.

Thanks for the replies. I just went and had original 40's welded in at the exhaust shop in town. Awesome, what a difference in the sound. I think in a month or two, I will get the o/r h pipe and bring it to them to have it put on.

I can only imagine how it will sound then.

I would go with the off road h pipe for sure. It makes your car sound beautiful
