Weighing the pros and cons of a recent offer. I was offered a trade and have til Wednesday to decide

Details on my car:
- 96 Cobra, 180k on chassis, 35k on forged motor, half black half tan interior, off road H pipe, Bassani catback, 3.73's, Cobra R rims, Steeda suspension bits

Details on car I would be getting in trade:
- 91 LX hatch, 306 forged w/ 15k, Trick Flow stage 1 cam, ported E7 heads, Explorer GT40 intake, 75mm TB, 76mm MAF, 1.7 rr, BBK shorties, off road X, Flowmaster catback, 3.55's, Steeda g-trac stage 1 suspension, comes with stock 10 holes and Weld draglites, brand new in the box Zex nitrous

So a pretty built car IMO. I'm feeling kinda burnt out on the modular scene, especially when you work on them daily. The fox would be a return to my Mustang roots, having owned 2 fox GT's. I have grown an attachment to the Cobra, it's an awesome car but I feel I will never take advantage of the forged shortblock, not with family and school stuff happening. I would say I'm 60/40 for the trade lol

Pretty decent. Paint is peeling on the rear molding but my white is starting to peel on the drivers fender. It has factory black interior, pretty rear on a fox

My dad had a special ordered '92 notch when I was little - Charcoal Gray/Black interior. He sold it after only 6 months because my mom wouldn't drive it. Ugh I wanted that car so bad! He tracked the vin over the years and it was totaled a few years/owners later

well, it's pretty much a done deal. The Cobra will be traded for the Fox on saturday. Straight trade, we're meeting halfway between Orlando and Palm Beach. I'm fairly certain he'll be able to mod the Cobra like how I wanted to but just couldn't. I'm getting my much needed break from Modular Mustangs and getting back to my roots. My 1st 2 Mustangs were Foxes and I'm gonna pick up where I left off, low bucking modding used to kick some LSX butt!

very excellent plan The mods are way more affordable, that'll make the CFO aka my wife, happy since I suffer from CSMS (Can't Stop Modding Syndrome). I'm getting a freshly built Fox that is a set of heads, intake, suspension and nitrous jets away from laying some serious whip ***. Plus I get some fresh slicks and skinnies to break in the car right

well, time to close this chapter on my Mustang novel. This was probably the best ownership I've had with a Mustang. The Cobra was relatively problem free. The GT drove me to my breaking point, where as the Cobra was a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed owning my 3rd 4 valve, it was total fun while it lasted. Maybe one day I can be reunited with this car. But for now, it's time for the next chapter. My past 4 Mustangs have been modular motors. And while they are fun, they are expensive. So it's time for e break. Time to return to my roots of what got me into Mustangs. Back to cheap fun, easy repairs and a boatload of available mods.

The Cobra is all cleaned out and in. Tomorrow is trading day. Farewell my friend, it was fun!

It's final photo shoot courtesy of my wife

I would never have traded a 96 cobra for a fox.

I love the simplicity of my old foxes, but I just cant give up the better creature comforts, handling and braking of my 98 Cobra or my 2012 Gt for a fox to be my daily driver.

So change of plans sort. I actually ended up selling the Cobra to a fellow Army vet today and then made the trip down to Vero Beach and bought the LX for half the price of what I sold the Cobra for. Wife is definitely more pleased since I said the leftover funds would be for my son's 1st b-day party and a fence on my property. New build thread is going up in the Fox body area!
