The wire adapters and mounting kit listed here are what I used on my 03 just a week ago. Below are the Scosche equivalent part numbers

Scosche FDK13B / FDK13
Scosche FD1428B / FD1428

check crutchfield, they include all the adaptors and wiring that you need with the order. You also get a pretty thick instruction manual for whatever you need to hook it up.

They've got absolutely exceptional customer service.

To the OP, let me know how this works out for you. When I bought my 2001 back in the spring, it had an aftermarket head unit (JVC) and an amp in the trunk but it sounds pretty lousy. I'm not sure if they did anything to the speakers or not. I also get interference from the alternator (I believe) and I was just thinking of trying to take it and have a bunch of audio work done to it, including a new double-din unit. Of course, the best sound systems is turning it off altogether

The harness I received said for 03-04 mustang so you should be good. It looks exactly like the one from crutchfield

Well it turned out to be the wrong harness. I ended up ordering the crutchfield 2004 harness. Should be here in a couple days.
