Mach 460
Have a 2001 with the mach 460 sound system, and it somehow keeps drawing power from my battery and running my car dead because the alternator can't keep up. What can I do to stop it? And what would be the value drop if I put a different receiver in (custom)?

I pulled the ground cable on my battery and put a check in between it and the ground post on my battery and a current was passing trough it with all accessories turned off and the key out of the ignition.
Then I had that connected still and started pulling fuses in my fuse box and I pulled out a fuse and the light went off. After some research online I found that it was the fuse for my instrument cluster. With the fuse pulled I then put the key in and turned it to the "on" position and see what would still work. The gauges worked still, a/c still worked, but the Mach 460 receiver and my shifter would NOT move.

Moving to sn95 forums.
is it possible that a switched accessory wire is grounding out somewhere and causing it to keep part of the 460 system on even with ignition off?

I'll give it a whirl and let you know what happens. But with it being my shifter and my stereo, wouldnt the problem be that obviously? I've never messed with a Mach 460 before this so I could very likely be wrong.
