K&N advice please

I dont have the cash at the moment to install the cold air intake. I have a BAMA tuner coming in the mail. So i was wondering if I purchased the the K&N replacement filter and removed the plastic cover if that would net me any gains...or if thats just a waste of time. I will still probably buy the K&N but not sure if removing the plastic head would make any differance?

If you remove the plastic head/housing, you will actually hurt performance. It will pull hot engine heat/air into the engine. Just wait and save your money to get an actual cold air intake (fender mounted).

The information above is correct. Your best bet is to save up and pick up a nice CAI for your Mustang! You can do just a drop in filter if you'd like, but that wont net as much power as a true CAI.

Let me know if you need any assistance! Our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 866.727.1266. I can also have one of them call you directly.
