I appreciate any help. I don't have my Haynes manual with me, and want to install some dynamat under the center console when I put in my new MGW short throw shifter.

This is the procedure from a 2004 Mustang-shouldn't be much different. Hope this helps!

 

Go to search mode and look for a file called Installing a nav radio in a 2005 mustang. It will walk you through the removal and installation, with pictures.

Incase you haven't done it yet;

1. Remove shift ****
2. Pull out shifter bezel
there are two screws in the front that hold the console to the dash, I think they are 8 mm
3. Pull out the inside of the center console storage part. Just yank.
4. There are two screws under there, remove these, and all the fasteners are out.
5. Pick up the console from the back and pull backward until you can disconnect the harness plugged in underneath.

From this point you will be able to yank it out.

 

This part of the board is for 94-04 Mustangs. That would not help here.
