Gauging Interest - 4 Corner Big Brakes on SN95’s

Hey there,

Just trying to gauge interest in 4 corner big brake upgrades for the SN95 cars.

We are the North American Distributor for AP Racing. While we currently have big brake upgrades available for both the front and the rear of the S197 (2 piece rotors in both 4 and 6 piston fronts and 4 piston rears), we don’t have them for the same setups for the SN95 body (2 piece rotor, 4 piston fronts are available now).

The question is, if we could develop a 2 piece rotor setup with 6 piston font, and a 4 piston rear brake setup – how much interest would there be in doing these upgrades. Keep in mind, a 6 piston front big brake upgrade would probably be in the $3000-$3100 area, and a 4 piston rear big brake upgrade would probably be in the $2900 area. Would you be willing to spring for an upgrade of this sort?

Your thoughts on the matter are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The cheap one would be twice the cost of my car originally. Though it would be a great track-goers mod I believe the majority of SN95's have taken the form of daily drivers now that the S197's have come out. Those would be a great upgrade from the stock brakes though...

Hehehehe - you got a deal on your car There are less expensive brake upgrades available for the SN95 already (1 piece 13" 2 piston and 1 piece 13" 4 piston). I know on the S197 the 4 corner upgrade makes a HUGE difference in stopping power. Just trying to see if the SN95-ers would have similar interest in brakes to those that are upgrading their S197's

A deal for sure, but because of that there has been plenty of need to drop money left and right.

I'm sure that the Cobra/Mach 1 guys wouldn't mind another step up. And if so, I call dibs on the swapped out parts.

i have a 98 cobra, i might be interested in a set up. but dont have ANY funds right now(5.0 4V stroker and all takes most of my cash as we speak). what size rotors we talking about front and rear? would definitely be willing to sell my current set up to anyone interested when done. but this will be a summer of next year change for me. thanks nick

Hey there,

Well, this isnt going to happen anytime soon probably (probably not until early '08) - but I am told that we are going to work on a front and rear kit (using one of my Stangs as the test car - unfortunatly I wont get to keep the brakes)

Will post something here on TMS when we have full kits available.

Thanks for the input
