I own 2000 Mustang V6 w/ 5 speed manual transmission. I shift gears at or around 2,000 RPM and my gas mileage is really bad. Currently I can get about 10 miles/gallon and that is driving on the freeway. I guess A/C have nothing to do with this because I hardly ever use it.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I should do? I replaced air filter recently but that didn't help at all.

Hmm... This is something you may want to check with James or SVOPaul about. Your shifting gears well so its not like your running it hard or anything...

Check with them and good luck finding a solution

When I first bought my car my mpg was terrible. I took it to a Ford dealer for a tune and I couldn't believe the difference it. I ended up getting 16-17 around town and 23-24 on the freeway. Your V6 needs a little help, I think.

Zoran, there is definately something wrong there. I get 21.4 average mpg from the same year/same engine car (except that mine it heavier and an Auto). You need to get a mechanic to check it out.

The plan was to take it to mechanic today, but there is big possibility that my family might get brand new F-150 soon so Mustang will be trade in. Ford dealer offered me $8,000 for my Mustang, if I could get F-150 extended cab 4x4 for around $22,000 after all discounts I will probably take that deal. I'm going to check some F-150s over the next weekend.
