A couple of my latest purchases

Thought I should share some of my latest purchases.....

used shortblock with a bad wrist pin

Plans are to go big or go home. I'm hunting down a Cobra crank right now. MMR/Manley rods, Manley -18cc dished pistons (9:1/8.9:1 compression), FRPP Cobra oil pump, ARP hardware through out.

Romeo PI heads.

I'm in the process of stripping these down so I can port and polish them. Valves will come from ModMax, springs from CompCams, new followers and lash adjusters from Ford. I'll top them with CMS Stage 2.5 blower cams.

I'll top all of this with a intake to be determined (probably a HPS Hardball'r with my current plenum/TB combo) and a Vortech S-trim pullied for 16-18psi. Should be wrapped up mid-to-end Summer '09

nice man, keep the updates coming! I do not know what to do for my winter project yet. Besides new front bumper and deck lid.

so in a ways of wanting to be a bit different and wanting to save money, I decided to change up the engine combo. The majority of the GT's you see nowadays are forged with the usual supercharger or turbo under the hood. With Trick Flow coming out with a plethora of 2v parts and plenty of aftermarket suppliers and shops out there, I decided to stick to natural aspiration.

Well, that and a healthy dose of nitrous

she'll still be forged internals, just bumping the compression up a wee bit, probably to 10:1. That way I can put up with this crappy gas that California has (ohhhhh, how I miss Texas and the 93 octane). I'll probably go with the NX kit this time around for nitrous, unless I can get a good deal on another Zex kit. If the tax return is large enough, then maybe I'll go with the Trick Flow heads.

one question, do you have that heavy block resting on a rim and tire?

crappy 91 gas in California, plus with running the nitrous I want to have a safe buffer area.

Build update: heads are stripped, gonna clean them up this weekend and get ready to port and polish. I'm also picking up a forged Cobra crank out of a '97 this weekend. Block is stripped and ready for the machine shop. I'm waiting til I get the rods before sending it there. Latest purchases were the bearings, head and valve cover gaskets. I'll order the ARP hardware soon. So far, I'm on schedule for the April 17th completion date I gave myself. I promised myself I will be showing it at Knott's Berry Farm show this year and I will keep that promise
