Hey, back to looking for parts for the new '03 Cobra...don't really like her front bumper...too smooth... :notnice: Don't much care for it...
So I was looking at front bumpers, and the cobra r style is the only one that really caught my eye, and I would, of course, have to go with the wing and the skirts if I did that. It's a bad looking kit, all said and done. Grrr!
But that front bumper doesn't have much clearance, it looks like, once it's on the car. Has anyone put one on theirs, and could they let me know just how much it scrapes on the ground? Because i don't want to waste my money on something that I'll just have to take right back off, ya know? Thanks...

The one piece R style bumper that Cervinis.com sells has approx. 4 inches ground clearance. Just gonna have to be carefule with it, especially on those speed bumps at the main gate...

The R bumper from Fordracing acctually has fasteners taht allow you to take lower splitter off. I know that is a function on the real R.

Yes, but that one will only work on a 99-02 Cobra, gotta keep the styling change in '03 in mind.

And ya, FordRacing has a replacement bumper for that purpose, but I always heard that since the splitter was held in place by like, 10 fasteners, that it wasn't that stable above 90mph.

Would make more $$$ sense if you're gonna be bangin one up to replace just the splitter and not the whole bumper, but I guess that depends on what she wants to do.

But heres some options hun...

Here's the splitter he's talking about...

and the required bumper...

Also Cervinis one piece...

Which is also the one that 5.0 and Super Fords used on their 3G GT project car. Seen here...

Umm the fordracing one is the same that is used on teh R. The fasteners work very well and are mroe than capable of 90+mph.

You would have to get the entire replacement bumber and splitter.

Hmmm, interesting... Now I have to decide...I want to put charcoal gray racing stripes down her center, and that front bumper would show them off so beautifully <3 So we shall see...I wonder if it's wrong to do a silver and charcoal Cobra R replica? She'd look so sexy though!! And since she is a Cobra...it wouldn't be too much of a sin...
It's OK, if I do go to the bad place when I die for a sin like that, I'll take over anyway...everyone will be driving Mustangs!! Think they'll still let me in?
Thanks for the advice, guys...if it really is a 4 inch clearance, then I can deal with that...
