Calling 2004 owners
Calling 2004 owners
Hey guys,
I have an opportunity to get a new 2004 white convertible v6 Automatic with 550 miles on it at the dealership.
Looks like they are selling for about 19k. Never been titled.
Wanted to know what you guys thought of the 2004 and its reliablility. Recalls, problems etc?
Also does anyone know where I can print a brochure?
Also what should I have the dealer do to prep after having it sit on the lot for 2.5 years?
Transmission fluid, Oil, Radiator flush, brake fluid????
Also have them change the tires???
Also does anyone know what the stripe options were for 2004, colors?
What do you guys think would be a good price?
I also want to see if it is under warranty.
What else can you guys think of????

That price is a bit much but it's not horrendous. The V6 premium convertibles started at over $26k and the deluxes started at over $24k. There weren't a lot of dealers who were selling those cars for "way less" than $19k in 2004. If you really want a car with no miles this might be your best bet, but if you dont mind a used car with 10,000 miles on it, your could save $4-5,000. Also, you can download brochures here:

Thanks guys for the feedback. I am trying to see how bad the dealer wants to sell these cars. They actually have 2 of them. The one only has 500 miles on it. I am going to see how low I can get them down. I am looking at below 16k. Currently if you do a KBB on the 2004, they come out at about 15k. I have been all over the internet and I am seeing 2004's for sale with 30k miles on them for 15 and 16k. So this would be a convertible with 500 miles for what i am hoping to be around 16. I know I can get a v6 2007 coupe auto for 18947 with my corporate discount.
The problem is you start with 18947 add taxes title license, stripe, tint and you are looking at 22k. If you start at 16k and add these items then you may be only around 18ish. A good 4k lower. Which appeals to me right now.
I am new to the Mustang world and wanted to know how reliable the 2004's are. I just sold my 2001 Corvette Z06.
Let me know what you think.

i had an 04 gt. i had no major problems. a few rattles from the plastics on the dash. but other than that nothing wrong with them. i also had an 00 V6 did not hav a single problem with that car either. gonna be a big power difference from your 400 hp lightweight vette to a 190 hp overweight mustang.
