Anybody ever replace a convertible top?
Anybody ever replace a convertible top?
Hey everybody, you probably saw the thread below on deciding which color top to go with for my vert. Well, I've decided and now I have the task ahead of me of putting the new top on. My best friend (the same one that toasted the tranny) will be helping me. If all goes as planned we will be spending this Friday through Sunday at the base auto shop putting it on.
That being said, does anybody have any advice for us on this whole process. I've got the Ford factory service manual along with a couple online articles that I've been referencing such as this one, http://www.ehow.com/how_4446394_chan...d-mustang.html
I'm buying a new top from late model restoration hopefully tomorrow morning. Thanks for any help!

white tops = no
tan tops = most cases, no, but with your stripes, they might look good
black top = always looks the best, just like black interiors

I posted on your other thread. I've bought 3 tops so far. I wouldn't dare to it myself. Back story, after my injury I can barely work a screwdriver these days. Even when I could do stuff, probably wouldn't tackle this project. Just a long process in replacing the tops myself.
