99 Mustang Convertible Question
Someone is selling a 99 Mustang Convertible, 93000 miles, white with tan top, tan interior, automatic. They said $6700 but flexible, we've got a loan for $5k. Do you think it would be an insult to offer the 5k? We COULD maybe come up with an extra $1000 out of our own pocket, but we would prefer less. What would you offer?
He says it has very few blemishes. I would probably say "Good" condition on KBB.
Going to check it out tonight, any thoughts please! =)

Yes it is a V6, and I did figure the $5k would be low but had to ask. I'm thinking maybe throw a bit of cash on top and see how he feels about it. And the person ended up not being able to show it for another few days so we are just cooling our heels and doing some research.
Is the 1999 v6 a pretty reliable car past the 100k mark? I know this does depend a lot on prior maintenenance, I'm going to grill the guy about his car habits. This will be for my wife, we are stationed over in England right now for another two years. We are hoping with proper care this can last fairly trouble free until we move back to the states and hopefully beyond!
Thanks for the reply!

I think $6,700 is a fair price but you can always try to negotiate a little off if that is the extent of the financing you can get. At 90K+ miles I would start to worry about the reliability of the car, though, but that is just me. The Mustang isn't the most well put together car, you know.
