I've tried using the screws, but it seems the be stripping the plastic phillips pattern.

I've heard using a flathead to lift up, then try to unscrew or something like that?

I'm trying to replace my honeycomb with this type of material below. I want to spray paint it black, and imitate the look on the DSG Cobra.

Even if the it looks jacked-up.....it's original and I can always go back to the honeycomb or go grille delete. But I think it might actually turn out quite nice.

Any suggestions on how to keep the bottom part of grille from bending. Also any suggestions on how to keep the horse stuck to the grille(guessing hot glue).

I should mention the grille on the left....9 bucks(I already have black spray paint). The grille on the right 90 bucks and there's no pony.

DYIs are fun and cheap too!

So just to clarify, are you looking to remove your stock grille? The reason I ask is if that's the case, it seems there's a thread somewhere on removing the stock grille and replacing it with the Mach 1 "grlle delete" kit, that may give you a good idea on how to remove the stock grille.

*update* I found this link on how to install a Mach 1 grille, it may provide some help on how to remove your stock grille - http://members.***.net/red9r/Installations...201%20Grill.htm

Yea......the stock grille.

With the guide it only says "Remove the four Plastic Blind Rivets from the top edge of the grill."

I'm trying to figure out how to remove without breaking them. I think you have to pry them up with a flathead screw driver.

Even still....Thanks for the help!

You will have to pry up on the screws, yes. Even then sometimes they are a PITA. I ended up having one all twisted up and pulling it out with pliers. It made me bust my hand all up in the process.

There are also screws holding it from underneath, as mentioned.
