94 Radio/CD connections
I have a 1994 that I'm installing a stock Ford cd player in. I have the cd player wiring and connections, but once connecting the cd player to the radio I still have one connector left that has no where to go. This connector that is left controls power....because I have no power to the cd player right now.
My question is:
Do I need a new amp to accomodate this?

Welcome to the site Stuart.
Does the car you are putting this unit into have the mach460 system? Also did the car that this unit came from have the mach460?
If one of them did and the other didnt, I am betting thats where the problem lies. In order to make it work, you would have to have all of the system or none of it.
As far as needing a new amp, I dont think you would need an aftermarket one.. I am thinking you need the mach460 amps and wiring harness. Let me know on the car specs.

Thanks for the warm welcome. No, the car I put the cd player into does not have the Mach 460 system.
I bought the wiring off of Ebay with this description: Mustang Ford Cd wiring 2000 94-00 nice, NR Mach 460. As I stated before I still have an extra connector, which is in some form the power supply for the CD player. Could I cut off the end connector and pigback the wires onto the power cable for the radio?

I'd guess you could, but I would be careful with it. May also want to put an inline fuse for safety sake. Leave enough wire out of the connector so you can splice it in again if you had to.
You can pick up a haynes manual at most auto parts stores or you can check http://www.alldata.com/
