2003 mustang GT speed competition

theres an 03 GT for sale close to where i live and im considering buying it.
BUt as some of you know my neighbors recently bought an 01 cobra and an 00 GT and his cousin has an 01 bullitt all 5 speeds, so the score is 3-0.
Im serious this time that i wont race because i recently read a story on a guy that got killed from doing that and it kinda related to me so i swear i wont. but what would it take for me to beat him?

Cold air intake
tune
throttle body
headers and exhaust
pulleys
4.10's
anythign else?

its just the satisfaction knowing your car is faster than someone elses i guess, but i seriously wont race.

It won't take that much to beat the Bullitt and especially GT if they are stock. The Bullitt has a a little more power and a fatter torque curve so it is quicker off the line, but a nice combination of your suggested mods would probably be enough to beat it, all other things being equal. The tune, pulleys and gears are the most impactful.
The Cobra will be a lot tougher to beat. With all those mods you might be able to, but I'm not even sure about that. You're gonna have to spend some money if you want to run with the Cobra.

The '01 Cobras weren't crazy fast compared to the 05+'s. the 03-04's were the supercharged 390hp monsters. The 01's were like 320hp I think.

They were 320, but had a good torque curve from the 3500 up range. They are tough to beat in a 2v car unless the cobra driver is crappy.

I have beat a 99 cobra in a stock 99 GT. but The driver was a 300lbs guy compared to me which was 130lbs at the time and i feel i was a better driver then him.

You must be some kind of awesome driver or he really sucked, because it's tough to make up a 60 hp and 15 lb-ft difference on driving skills alone. The 1999 was the year that the Cobra was making less power than advertised, so it's possible that the car hadn't been 'fixed' yet and was only making ~305 hp, but even that is pretty good.

I knew the guy with the cobra and it did have the engine fix. Also had about 100 lbs of stereo equipment too. IRS...plus already heavier car plus heavy driver and stereo didn't help.

Beat him by about 3/4 of a car.

I raced 2 98 cobras too and I beat both of those too.

heres the cobra killer!

16 inch wheels baby. prob why it was faster then any other gt i ever incountered.

Easist way to beat all of the above, get a s/c. Or, get a s/c and those mods, you should be able to then beat or stay along side of a 03/04 Cobra then. A stock one anyway...

Haha, +1. I would really like an S/C for mine... but I think I'd spend more on tickets/insurance than I would on the S/C itself.

Good luck bro. My parents won't let me mod for a year.
