03 GT IAC /RPM High

My rpm stays at 2500 when I stop from 80 . When I stop fully the rpm is still at 2500 then dies . I have to start the car back up and put it in drive. (AUTOMATIC). I have a clean throttle body, clean MADE and I cleaned my IAC . Is it better to just replace the IAC even though it looks completely clean and I've cleaned it.

The IAC motor is quite possibly the problem.
I chased A similar issue in my 2003 F150 with surging idle problems and hanging high RPMs while at highway speed.
I replaced the IAC with aftermarket and still got the same problem. Later replaced it with Ford Motorcraft and the problem was resolved. It pays to stick with Ford Motorcraft parts.

From what it looks like it's new. But I'm going to replace it and we will see.
Any other ideas??

Same strange problem w my 03 GT manual transmission. It wouldnt rev quite as high as yours but it would "hang" and then drop down normal when coming to a stop - replaced IAC as per suggestion here and problem instantly resolved. However, as has been mentioned here, make sure you use a Motorcraft brand one in this instance. Thanks everyone.
