Will the D3 nav antenna work in the dash on a 08?

Well i have to redo this so called "professional install i paid someone to do. Which i will be disputing through my CC company or the local magistrate if need be. My question is can i mount the D3's nav antenna inside the dash? Will it still pick up the signal? Thanks guys.

I've heard of a few people mounting the antenna on the backside of the console between the two center vents. Also I think another guy mounted it upside down underneath the dash pad. I haven't heard of complaints. Mine however, is mounted on the rear deck and I have a strong signal everywhere. Good luck

Whats wrong with the original installation, if you don't mind saying.

I don't know what the difference is between the stock antenna and the D3's antenna, but the stock location is under the dash behind the gauge cluster. I mounted my stock antenna up onto the bottom side of the dash using trim-grade doublesided tape. Before, I had it stuck to the top of the nav system. I am getting better reception now than I was before, but even before, it worked alright.

I would think it would work fine under the dash, but you can always try it there temporarily, and if it doesn't seem to get a good enough signal, move it later.

Have mine mounted between the center vents, on that metal panel. Used the adhesive pad they included and stuck the antenna there. No issues what so ever with signal. Nav tracks perfectly.

+1 to that (factory NAV unit here). You can see the exact location in my thread "Installing a Factory NAV Unit". Works perfectly as long as I am not in a parking garage.

I had mine on the metal bar between the two vents, and I did not get any signal. I had to put my antenna on the top of the dash in the passenger front corner.
