Will 6.5 round speakers fit in my mustang
Will 6.5 round speakers fit in my mustang
Hey I have some pretty new and kind pricey door speakers that i took out of my accord i would like to keep them because they sound awesome but i need to know if the will fit in my mustang at all thanks.
The factory door speakers are 6"x8" speakers (which aren't exactly, but close enough) so trying to put a 6.5" round speaker in that will require you to make the hole bigger (if possible) and still have the four screws for the speaker work, or make an adapter that'll let you mount the 6.5" in the place of the 6"x8", similar to the 5.25" to 6"x8" adapter shown here:

The other location is to adapt it to the sub location, if you have a Shaker door panel, or mount it where the sub would go if you have a non-shaker door panel, or find some other place, maybe the rear deck (which are also those 6x8 speakers, but since they're hidden and there's plenty room, you can adapt all you want there.)
Here's more info for ya:

Hope that helps!

What Houtex said. Also you could make a little spacer to try and pick up that extra space you will need in the doors if you don't want to cut. I dont remeber exactly how much space is in there. I got an adapter and put 5.25's in mine.
Another option is that they make kick panel enclosures for our cars.
