will 06 stock head unit fit a 2007 f150

i replaced my stock head unit in my 06 gt and my father recently purshed a 07 f150, but it has bare bones head unit, i offered to put my old one i took out of the mustang in because i am not using it. just thought it may just be able to plug and play.

I know the size will fit, but the harnesses may not match up. Also, the new ones require dealer programming to make them work when changed, from what I hear.

It will fit, but it will not be able to communicate with the PCM so you will get a bundle of errors on the diagnostics. Also the speed volume will not work. It would have to be programmed for the tuck. I know, because I tried putting my shaker in my dads 06 F150.

Just get it reprogrammed and it will work fine. Check this thread "http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=63946" I think there's a place or two in there you can send it to to get re-programmed.
