Where to run 0 Gauge wire? Or aftermarket door sills?
Who here runs 0 gauge wire to the trunk - and where do you run it?
I just picked up some 0 gauge (1/0), because my 4 gauge just isn't cutting it anymore.. 1900 watts with amps + carputer and will be about 2300 amps when I upgrade the door subs & amps. I felt that the 4 gauge barely fit under the door sill area. Where does Ford run their giant bundles of wires?
Or can anyone with aftermarket door sills report on whether or not there is more space under them?

Thanks.
Same here, ran kicker 1/0 down the same way. Fit nicely under the stock wiring that runs along that side. carpet fit snuggly over it and cant tell wires were even ran.

Wait, can you elaborate? I haven't run into any stock wiring. I also have my wires running in between the carpet and the door sill. Is there an "under the carpet" area that's even larger?
There's kind of a plastic "channel" that all the factory stuff runs in under the sill plates, IIRC.
Man, If I was doing the little bitty PDX's, I'd mount them hanging from the rear deck so they'd be near impossible to see. Actually, I think you could massage one into the drivers kick panel where the factory amps are if you felt so inclined.

I also relocated the battery to the trunk while installing my car PC. I routed the batt cable along the passenger side with minimal issues.
I ran my power down the drivers side
I ran my RCA's down the passenger side
I ran the speaker wires down the center and under the center consoles.

Ahhh, I think I see the source of my confusion:
By door sill, are we referring to the plastic trim above the door or below the door? I have my wires running under the door, where it's a tight squeeze - are you guys referring to above the door? Do I have to remove the plastic interior quarter panel in order to run cable up there?

Wow, I'm so stupid - all this time I've been squeezing wires in between the carpet and the door sill. there's so much space under the carpet!
How did you go through the firewall? Did you cut a hole in the rubber wiring grommet? The 4 gauge was a no brainer, because of the perfectly sized nipple, but just wanting to make sure there isn't a better place to poke through before I cut through the rubber.

Yep, just cut a slit in it. Its a pain to get it through, but if you dont cut too large of a slit, it will seal up nice and tight. If you have a hard time, make a "X" pattern, wont seal up as tight, but pretty close.

Thanks for the quick response, X pattern sounds like a good way to get the hole started. I have a plastic tightening grommet to stick in the hole, so hopefully I'll have some margin of error.
