Where to mount Sirius unit for Avic D3 or Z2??

Hi All, ... I'm trying to install my Z2, .. yet can't seem to find a convenient place to put the Sirius Unit.

On my 07 Gt it's in the trunk (passenger side), ... yet if I put mine there, then the Interconnect cable that goes to the head unit doesn't appear to be long enough.

Has anyone installed one of these? If so, .. where did you mount the Sirius? and how did you run the interconnect cable up to the Head Unit?
(the interface cable is 8' long)

thanks mucho!!

I had mine professionally installed. They put it right on the passenger floor
where it begins to go up to the firewall. There is insulation appx 1" thick
there. They cut out the insulation just enough and recessed the Sirius unit right in. Mounted a blutooth module (about the same size as Sirius tuner) right next to it as well. With the carpet down it it undetectable to the eye and you can't feel it with your foot either (although feet rarely reach up to that part of the floor). It's also convenient to run the wires. Hope this helps.

If you mean one of the out of the box units, I've always put the reciever on the rear decklid, routed the wires around the molding at the top of the doors, and tucked the excess into the passenger side a pillar, maybe a pic of your sirius unit might help.

my brother put the xm in his 04, and there was no room for it so he put it under neath the headunit and covered it and wrapped it in foam to make it not rattle.

I got a D3 coming for mine and I'm getting the xm one, I'm not sure where to put it either, would there be room underneath the passenger seat?
