What is mounting depth of door speakers?

I have stock 4 speaker system I want to see what options there are for the door? I like the Alpines have them in my bronco and Crutchfiled said they would not fit but did with very little mod. What is the mounting depth limit and the mounting height? Looking at Alpine SPS-570A or SPS-57C2

If you are looking at the 6x8's anything made will fit. I think the depth is about 2-7/8th's. The Alpine's are like 2-1/2", so no problem. Get the wiring harness adapter as it makes it plug & play.

OK, I looked & looked for this information & couldn't find it anywhere. So I called Crutchfield. Here's their answer:
-Main Door Speaker depth: 3.33"
-Door Sub Depth: 3.53"
-Convertible side panel depth: 3.44"

Hope that helps more than me!

On the 6x8's, though, take care to avoid tweeter protrusion. The door panels are very close to the speakers. I tried to use a "convertible" -type coax in mine and the tweeters stuck out too far.
