2005 Mustang Slimline A/C **** Kit
Part Number: # 1003-05

http://www.uprproducts.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=749

UPR has two kinds of AC ***** - the slimlines above saying that
"Installs in minutes and are available with red, blue and green illumination. New Larger Diameter Illumination Port for Cleaner and more defined look at Night."

I remember people early on having problems seeing the illumination at night with the aftermarket ***** - does anyone have these slimlines and casn they testify to the UPR claim that they are more visible at night?....

Thanks!

these are the ones I have, but I got mine in Feb, I wonder if these have a larger "Diameter Illumination Port" than what I have????
I dont have a problem with seeing the light at night, the one closet to the driver that controls the speed of the fan, is a little difficult to see but that might be because of the angle of which the seat is.

I ordered the blue and they are listed as the newer ones with better illumination. Personally, I'm not all that happy with them. The backlight on the radio is green and one mine the illumination still leans more towards green than blue, more of a bluish-green color leaning more towards the green than blue. Also, like the previous post said, the one **** closest to the driver side is very faint compared to the other two. Aside from the illumination problem they are pretty nice.

I bought the ones with "Larger diamater illumination port". And had no light out of them. I returned them right away and got a refund!

Those are nice. Are they brushed or polished? Thanks for the pic.

I got a set, but the middle and right **** would spin all the way around, wouldn't stop at the normal range of motion. Anybody else have this problem? Vis at night was poor, but you could see them.

I can verify that the slim line ones have more illumination than the round ones. I had the round ones (blue) and nothing came through, plus wasn't the biggest fan of the look. sold them got the slimline (green) and now I get some light but not alot.

Also for the **** going all the way around the round ones did this on me because on the back of the **** there is no groove to cause it to stop, but the slim line ones have it and do stop for me.

I just got mine today and installed - just went out into the dark garage to try them. They illuminate okay - could be brighter but they are not unseeable - the closest one is hard to see though because of the angle and how lcose it is to you.

Yeah, I have the same spin all the way around thing with the middle one - stinks because otherwise, I love how they look!

cool Dave I am glad you like them!! I love mine!! I am pretty sure mine spin all the way around as well, but since I have never used the heat it always stays on the coldest setting and the "recirc" setting.

I have the green ones and two of them don't even glow green. They look more like yellow... I am most displeased.

I got the designer *****, in red. The have ZERO illumination, none at all. But, on the bright side ( no pun intended ) I have never had the spin completely around issue with them. I actually plan on replacing them because of them not showing up. Called the place I got them from and they said that was a "known issue". Yea, ok fine, whatever. Then why sell them....

I have heard that the Steeda ***** are much better.

So I think we're all in agreement, the illumination of these ***** is lacking. I'm thinking of replacing the green LED's the Shaker unit uses and going with a different color and brightness, has anyone here attempted this and if so is it difficult.
