Under hood Mat

I guess I'm not very observant. I've had the car for almost a year and a half and never noticed until the other day that the mat under the hood has two running ponies embossed into it.

Have any of you guys done anything with them?

Haven't myself (keep forgetting), but others have taken paint markers and colored them in.
I have to remember to do this, doh.

I painted mine with touch up paint.
(ignore all the other white spots... I live on a dirt road - when wet it is horrible)

I went to a craft store, bought a fine-tip paint pen, and outlined the ponies, instead of coloring them in. Really brings them out.

What you guys have done looks and sounds good. Cheap and effective mod that improves the underhood look. I'm going to try something like that myself.

One more thing... porkster ...how do you like those hood lift pistons? What brand are they and how easy to put on? Thanks.

By the way, I know what you mean about dirt roads. I'm actually on a blacktop road, but I live kind of in the middle of nowhere out here in eastern Washington State. Lots of dirt roads.

I have the Redline Tuning hood struts. I got them before there were any choices of hood struts out there. These were more work to install than ones offered now. Involved drilling and rivets. But I LOVE them!

Have any idea how to clean that mat without making a mess of it? When I tried different things, damp cloth, etc, it wanted to fuzz up the cloth, or just smeared the mud. So I left it alone.
