OK, love the car.

But can't figure out why Ford put a loud, clunking turn signal on the car.

Even my wife and kids have commented about the "thunking"

Any way to disable this? Just the reminder in the car, not the actual signal itself...

This isn't a stupid question, but I don't think anybody would argue that the turn signal should be at a normal volume. The designer of this system must have been hard of hearing!

Ford has been putting this annoying turn signal for years now. My 02 SVT Focus had the same noise. Everyone would say they liked the car but hated the turn signal noise. I have just gotten used to it since it was on my last car as well. It would be cool if you could disable it though.

I like it. Well, ok, I don't mind it. In previous cars I have owned, you had to look at the signal indicator to see if the signal was actually on because the "clicker" was so quiet. Not in the new Mustang! I also like the "you forgot to turn off your signal stupid" warning chime.

I laughed my hiney off on the drive home when I heard the turn signal. I don't recall really hearing it during my "test drive" of the only GT vert on the lot, but when I drove my new one home the first signal I was laughing.

Reminds me of the sound of the turn signal hardware in my '70. I think it's a great touch. Not annoying at all.

I suspect part of the logic, assuming there is some, in having a big, noisy turn signal is interoperability with the convertibles. In a vert you REALLY need the loud noise. When I kept the top down on my now deceased 98 vert  I had a heck of a time hearing the turn signal. Having a loud clicker would at least make it easier to insure that I'm not driving down the road signalling my lack in intent to turn.
