Speaker Size
mine came with the skipper 500 but i replaced everything, and the 5x7's dropped right in and all the screws to mount them lined right up. not sure if the stock system is set up the same or not but i would imagine it is

It's like lifting a blanket off the stereo, they are very bright compared to the stock speakers (even without using the 3db treble boost in the tweeters) It takes some getting used to if you are used to mushy speakers. The pivoting tweeters are also a must to dial in the sound.
They do not milk much more power-wise. The Kappa 682.7 CF's are 2 ohm speakers rated 100 watts RMS, the stockers are 4-ohm/25 watts (peak???). I don't think the stock stereo really liked seeing the 2-ohm load, and it just didn't have the juice to really power them. It would sound thin at low volume and only sounded good at full blast, which still wasn't very loud.
So I eventually upgraded everything else (head unit and amp) to give the speakers what they wanted/deserved.
If I did it all over again, I may have just gotten the Infinity Reference 6x8's instead, which are 4-ohm and a lower RMS, but still have a pivoting tweeter. They might have sounded better or have been more compatible overall with the stock head unit.

My deck has RMS power of 80W and Peak Power of 200W
the Inifinity speakers i want have RMS Power: 100W and Peak: 300W.
Can i still get these speakers or do i have to get speakers that match my deck?

But yea 80 watts rms deck pushing 100w rms speakers would work.
I have the JVC KW-AVX706. Here's a link with some info on it. http://www.cardomain.com/item/JVCKWAVX706
Is 80W RMS bad??? it says 20 X 4 RMS so i figure you say 80W. I can take an engine apart but i know nothing when it comes to speakers lol...thanks for all the help!

Maybe that deck is 80 watts total???? That is, 20 watts x 4 channels? (never mind, you beat me to it...)
The Kappa's are a bit over-rated for that deck, wattage wise. You could try the Kappa's with the deck and see if you like it. But if you're a tone dweeb like me, you'll probably end up wondering if they would sound even better with the amount of juice they are capable of handling.
If 20W x 4 is enough volume for you, and you don't ever plan on getting an amp, then I think you would probably do just fine with the less expensive Reference series instead. I think Enfynet has those in his 'stang...maybe he could pipe in on his experience.

I thought you meant 80 x 4 and I was like D A M N
Never heard of one doing that.20 watts is better than the stock unit, but probably need more to truly get what you are after with the speakers you listed.
Did you look at my sig? I will be pushing 100w to each speaker from my amp.
I am a newbie at this myself, I definitely don't know all the in/outs of a system yet. I have installed numerous HU's but have NEVER done amps, subs etc like this time.

If a head unit pumps 20w x 4 for a total of 80w, that does not mean you are getting 80 to EACH speaker only 20w and the RMS listed on the speaker is for EACH speaker. So the Infinity's can take 100w RMS each, but you would only be pumping 20w RMS to each with the head unit you listed.
