Orderd them on mine. One of these days my daughter is going to be old enough to ride in the front seat. $330 is nothing to me over the life of the car. My daughter/wife/soon-to-be-born-sons life are all worth far more.

I am a physical therapist that has had to walk tons of patients with chest tubes after t-bone accidents! Studies show that side airbags cut down a significant portion of collapsed lungs due to side impact/ broken ribs. I just wish the mustang had head curtain airbags! But this is an improvement!

Actually it's a combination side airbag (torso and head) so you do/will have curtain airbags to protect your skull!

I'll be getting them also, but as Kahdir pointed out, it's a shame that they're seat-mounted - closing out one of the better modifications.

i got them as well. talked with my insurance company first - was likely going to get them anyway, but the insurance discount sealed it - they'll pay for themselves.

I got them on mine. I've seen enough wrecks to know they are worth it.

I'm sure there will be an insurance discount for this option and the Active anti theft...
State Farm told me "no discount" for side airbags or active anti-theft.

I got them. My life and my passegers' lives are worth far more than the $330 that the side air bags cost.

I was in an accident in 2003. Some bone head decided to make a left turn about a car length in front of me, while I was doing the speed limit, 40mph. Was just like the simulated crash they do for frontal impacts. The hit was really hard boom 40-0 in a blink of an eye. I walked away with a sore chest, neck and a small burn on my wrist. I didn't even realize the air bags had inflated.

I am a firm believer now, I get nervous riding in cars not equipped with air bags. No matter how good a driver you are, you're sharing the roads with complete morons every day.

If you can budget for them, I say it's money well spent.

the more protection the better. I rolled an Acura Integra a couple years back. After taking a look @ the car the day after I was amazed that my head stayed intact. I love the option & wouldn't have gotten my car without it.

I will get them on my '06. My commute is about 98% highway, so my average speed on a daily basis will be in the 70 mph range. (speed limit is 75, no flames please) As others have stated, its not me I'm worried about, its those other morons out there. For the money I think its definitely worth it to get them. But in line with the topic starter - since November, I have not seen ANY dealer allocated Mustangs in my local area that have had this item installed! I'm concerned the only way I'm going to get them is by ordering. And I'm not a patient person who likes to wait! (especially when it will have taken me almost a year 1/2 to save up my preferred down payment!)

I also have State Farm, not happy to hear I won't get a discount. Anyone have a picture of them - that is if they look any different than the std. seats?

From what I could tell, the only difference is a small black tag sewn into the seat back seam (facing doors a few inches down from top of seat) that says "air bag".
Maybe someone will post a pic. I don't have one.

I am leaning towards replacing the seats with something better in the future, so I didn't order the side air bags. I talked to a Geico agent about them and was also told they will make no difference in policy rate. Active security on the other hand...

Didn't order them for myself, but my wife rides shotgun. Her life's worth the few hunderd bucks.
per hour?

They are a waste if I were to order a new car, cuz a stang isnt gonna save u in a crash, so the side air bags wont help since the car has no frame IMO

The car has a 4 star safety rating without side airbags. That's good enough for me. Side air bags haven't been test yet, but 4 without them is pretty darn good.

Hmm... I'm pretty sure that the 'Stang got 4 stars on the side-impact even without the side bags. Not too many cars do have frames anymore, heck, a lot of small SUV's don't even have them.
