Shaker 500 - Gulf Coast Version ?

Hi all,

somebody knows the technical differences between the standard setup and the gulf coast version. Is it just in the software or really a different harware ?

I'm very interested to know if it is possible to change the radio frequencies in the "normal" shaker that it akts like a gulf coast radio.
Mybe somebody of you can give me a hint what is different and how to change that.
In a lot of radios there are hidden menues like the "3" and "6" combination within the shaker. I hope there is another menu to change the setup.

Because in europe the stang is not sold by ford it is not possible to ask a dealer about that. I already wrote an email to delphi about that and they just answered that it is a different software and I have to ask a ford dealer for changing. Not that easy without a competent ford dealer.

I hope somebody can held me finding out some more details about that.
Really every hint is welcome.

regards,
Godik

What exactly does a "Gulf Coast" radio do? Does it have weather radio capabilities?

Gulf Coast refers to the Middle East countries (Saudi Arabia, etc.). This type
more than likely will not function properly in your market. If it would the only way to get it to function would be for the folks at Delphi to reprogram your unit - this is highly unlikely unfortunately. As it is your best bet is to replace your head unit with an aftermarket unit. Sorry I don't have better news.

Oh, when we think of Gulf Coast in the US, it's the area of Florida, Louisiana, Bama, etc.

You need the radio to be converted to the "other" frequency stepping. There are adapters that allow for that.
