My Shaker 1000 is giving me crap now - like so many. I would love to get a new head unit, one with GPS, DVD, etc. But, My main concern is that I will eityhe rbe able to control the subs or at least still use the subs and amps I got with the 1000 system. I am looking for people that had the Shaker 1000 and installed new head units. Advise please ![Big Grin](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Bryan, I have the clarion dvd flip out unit and utilize all the shaker 1000 components.I installed the audiocontrol LC6 converter to have full control of all the subs/amps of the system. It works perfectly!..with the independent gain adjusters on the Lc6 i have even increased the output of the front sub amps. Now the pound ALOT harder than before. They push alot of air now, whereas before you really couldn't even tell they were subs...There is no doubt now!

Bryan I'm replacing my head unit also. Two things to look for to help out your system:
Crossovers for both HP and LP with a subout
At least 5 plus bands of EQ adjustment
The shaker lacks so much midrange it's sad. I'm installing my head unit this week so if I run into any problems I'll let you know.
Thanks Mike

basically yes.You can use a standard LOC as well but won't have all the amp adjustability and equalization that you get with the LC6.Tap into the amp leads with the LC6 and you are good to go...Works like a charm...I got mine from a buddy who owns a stereo shop, but there are alot of online places that sell it too
