Saleen Switch Plate

Has anyone painted their door switch plates silver like they are on the Saleens? If so could you please post some pics and what paint you used?

I did. I used silver Duplicolor auto import spray. Check out the link in my sig.

Hey Leo, how do u like ur windshield antenna? any issues getting a great signal?

I did mine as well but no pics at the moment. Also used Duplicolor spray can bought from Pep Boys. I scuffed the plates with 600 grit sand paper and put down 5 or 6 coats. Been over 6 months now and no scratches.

I used Duplicolor Ford Metallic Silver from Pep Boys.

It's works just like if not better than the factory antenna. Best of all nobody knows it's there unless I point it out.

Did you guys clearcoat these panels or anything to prevent scratches, or just put down several coats of paint?

I've had mine for about 8 months and it's been totally scratch resistant.

First, wet sand with 600 grit paper; then spray on about 3 coats of clear plastic primer and finally, within 3 to 10 minutes of your last coat of primer, spray on the initial coat of paint. I used three coats each of plastic primer and paint.

I got it from Mr. Mikes. It costs $19 for 15 feet which is all you'll need. Here's the link, click on colors and make your choice. Takes about 10 minutes combined to install on both doors.
