Removing Door Panels...Dynamat install (HELP NEEDED)
I have some new Pioneer 6x8's that I plan to install in the doors, and I also picked up some Dynamat because the rattles are killing me.

2 Questions:
- How difficult are the door panels to remove? I don't have the "door panel removal tool" shown in the PDF.
- Any advice on the Dynamat installation? I've never worked with the stuff before.

Graypny and I removed his door panels to install some new interior door handles, just use a small flat bladed screwdriver. You could put a piece of tape around the end to reduce the chance of scratching anything. Wasn't particularily difficult. A lot of screws to remove around the edge and then prying open some panels at the door pull, switches, etc. The switch panel has an electrical connection and the panel has one to disconnect before you can remove it from the door.
There are a couple of screws that aren't easy to find, so consult steps 1 through 9 of these instructions from Silver Horse Racing to help.
I had mine out when I installed some Infinity Kappa 6x8s. I'm going to go back in and install some Dynamat like you are doing, because they rattle like crazy. I like the speakers (except for the dumb external crossovers) but the doors make more noise than the stereo!

Oh, I forgot, since you probably only want to do this once, you might want to consider getting some of those moleskin window seals. The factory ones scratch window tint. I got a set off eBay for pretty cheap, and will put them on next time I'm in there.
Actually I already did that when I got my windows tinted a few months ago.
could have used this tip several months ago. hehe.
officespace, i pretty much took out all the panels and just covered all the metal with the stuff. you should probably do the trunk door too, but it will look ugly unless you put some type of panel over it.
One of my doors was rattling like crazy, so I Dynamatted the crap out of it today. I used about 4 square feet. I was surprised how heavy it made the door panel, and how hard it was to put back on. It's very quiet, now, though... no rattles, even with the bass turned way up.
Funny side story: I put the door panel back on and the Infinity Kappa 6x8 speaker I have on that side sounded like utter sh*t! Turns out I got a little out of control and Dynamatted over the dang speaker hole! Duh.

Dynamat actually markets a "license plate kit," which is just enough to do that job. Vastly overpriced, of course.
