Recessed SCT Tuner in Arm Rest!

Hey guys I'm new to the site and I joined mostly because I had a hard time finding information on my last project. Well this is it. I wanted to keep my SCT tuner in the car at all times, and make it quick to be able to change my tune. but I also didn't want it to get the tuner scratched or messed up. I decided to cut a metal plate to put on top of the tuner with holes cut out for screen, buttons, tuner power switch, and a couple accessory switches. After a few measurements I cut it out, covered the rough edges with that flexible door protectant stuff, covered the screen and buttons with clear tape for protection, 3M'd the tuner to the back of the plate, ran the tuner cord to the OBDII sensor and plugged it in, then I spliced into the OBDII sensor power wire and ran a switch to the plate, and then finally moved the OBDII sensor plugs and zip-tied them up under the dash where I couldn't accidentally kick the plug out. Tell me what u think

Uploading new tunes is easy to do by sitting in the car with my laptop and lifting the plate up to plug the USB cable into. I change the tunes often because I have a rather long commute in the week to work and use the street tune which seems to help with fuel economy, but I switch to the performance tune on days when I have a race to

Nice job. I have two tunes and I admit, the less aggressive is better on fuel mileage, for whatever reason. So when I take a long ride I plug in the less aggressive tune - but that doesn't happen all that much so my tuner is in the trunk. But I see your point.

Looks Pro. Good job. I love things like this. Totally unnecessary, but done really well.
