Thumbs up

Some of the early renderings of the '05 interior showed the little "L" inserts above the rear armrests being the same color as the door panel inserts. I like this look.

I realize the production cars don't have these different color inserts, but I'm wondering, is that really a separate piece, or is the rear panel all one piece?

If it's a separate piece, what I'm thinking is, maybe it would be possible to order the piece from the dark charcoal interior from the parts department, and use it with a light graphite or medium parchment interior to continue the two-tone effect into the rear.

Does anyone know if that's a separate piece?

Sounds like it could work, and it would look cool.

Yes, I agree.

I think Ford designed these interior pieces so they could have a lot of variation cheaply, but it may also be nice for people who want to do a little customizing. With the interior colors they have now, you could have light graphite inserts in a dark charcoal interior, or you could have dark charcoal panels and parchment inserts with a parchment interior, etc. Lots of possibilities.

If they are removable I will redo both the door inserts and the ones in the back to match the Sonic Blue paint. Should look cool with the dark charcoal interior.

Ya, but I would do a better job than what I see in that pic. The vinyl looks loose. I would also use a darker shade that matches Sonic Blue.

Cool photo. Do you know what aftermarket head unit/screen is shown in the pic? I want to install a double-din DVD/touchscreen when the convertible comes out next year.

That looks like a pretty heavily modified center console...not just a double din.

I believe this is one of the SEMA Show stangs. I forget which one (interceptor maybe?), but I remember seeing this head unit, and I think in another thread, one of the creators said it was a Rockford Fosgate unit.
