Adam and Martimus, where did you purchase your radar detectors? Just got a $204 ticket the other day. I just have to learn the hard way.

at the time I got a good deal on mine from Amazon.com I had a coupon for 20% off anything. So it made it the best deal. Just have to shop around my friend. I have the blue one also I figured the glare from the red one would hurt my eyes on long drives or be distracting at night.

I did the research and ordered the V1 last week. According to my UPS tracking # it should be delivered on Wed. I also got the concealed display too and will post pics of the hardwire install when I do it.

I use a Whistler DE1740C and it's paid for itself (in avoided tickets) many times over.

I use the V1, have for years. On the 05 I used a fused add a circuit in the junction panel in the passenger kick panel to hardwire the connection. Ran the RJ-11 (phone cable) up, inside the pillar cover. Then I ran the cable under the headliner (following the map light wires) and exit the front of the headliner (near windshield) and to the radar detector. Mounted high on the windshield it can still pick up radar from all angles.

I use the same one but I don't think it picks up laser. Drove past a cop with his gun out and the darn thing didn't beep or do anything. Good thing I was only going 7 over.

Our airplanes use distance marks in the breakdown lane to calculate speed. If you slow way down in between the marks they can't prove your speed. You can use a radio (scanner) tuned to their frequency to tell what area they are in.

I think we need a Poll on this thread, is there a way to add one so everyone can vote?

It's supposed to... haven't had a situation to test it yet (*knock-on-wood*) -check to make sure all alerts are on; by default only 2 are on.
