Playstation in the car
#1
I do plan on getting an in-dash LCD head unit, either from kenwood or that new Pioneer people are talking about. In total I want the unit to run satellite radio, my music, and a playstation.
I figure since these units have video inputs, I could easily wire up a playstation. Well, in theory. I guess the ghetto way would be to put in a car power inverter, and snake the wires around or something. But how do you handle powering the unit on etc? I can't think of a place to put it besides the trunk.
Anyone have any experience with this? I did google around for some how-to's on the subject, but I came up empty.

I hear ya kev. I wanted to do an xbox install for a while, but decided against it in the long run. And that new PS2...holy cow it's tiny! You could easily fit it in the glovebox.

Playstation or Xbox in a car is a great idea if you ask me. Gives entertainment to kids, or "big kids" and it's a DVD player. Can't go wrong.
I had a PS2 in my last car and I loved it.

Well the install wont be for a while. I still need to buy my head unit, components, and rear speakers. I will post PLENTY of pictures when I get my rig installed though.
I checked the dimensions for the PS2 mini, they are 23cm x 2.8cm x 15.2cm. I am not sure if that will fit into the glovebox or not. It sounds like it may, but you also need some room for the back connectors and also the RF controller adapters on the front of the unit.
I'm stuck at work right now but I can do measurements later.
