Pioneer AVIC Z2 Nav system

I just bought one of these, and will be installing it when I get my car back. Has anybody gotten one of these? how hard is it to install? how do you like it?
As for you other people who bought others did you look at this unit? if so what were your reasons for not buying it?
Thanks for the info in advance.

If I can't get my factory NAV to work I will definitely be looking in to one of these.

I hear this system is highly recommended by many other users.

Good choice! Now get your car back and NEVER trust a valet again!!!

I was shopping for a nav system and chose the Eclipse AVN5510. The reason i skipped the Z1 is becuase it was about 2k-2.5k and had a hard drive, which i really didnt need. I just wanted a reliable navigation style and sirius radio. The style of the Eclipse navigatin is exaclty the same as the way Toyota does it, which is very good. Besides, the Eclipse only cost me about $1,300. Ive had the car for about 11 weeks, and have not had had any issues. and I always use the nav.

The Z2 has no bypass yet, so it won't play movies while you're in drive....They've been working on a bypass over at avic411.com, but no luck yet.
A fyi....I have a new Z1 with accessories for sale in the parts section....It's all ready to go with the harnesses already soldered together.

I have had the Z1 for almost a year and LOVE it! It is a great unit. The install is somewhat involved but not too bad. You can go to avic411.com and look under the Z1/Z2 section for install instructions in a 2005/2006 mustang. You will not regret having one of these, guaranteed!

I have been checking the avic411 site, sounds like the bypass is hooked in with the programing and the GPS so when the car is moving the DVD will not work... not much of a problem for me, don't plan on watching movies while driving down the road...LOL

i just had the d3 installed. the ipod interface works great. however, in my opinion, the navigation system blows compared to the plug in garmin unit i had before. the thing takes forever to find itself and isn't all that accurate. i might do the sattelite radio thing but i'm not quite sure if it's worth it for me. plus the d3 won't let you access about half of its capabilities while driving, like putting in an address to navigate to for example. that is a pain in my butt. the only great thing about the unit is that it's all in dash and clean. if that's not what you're looking for then get an ipod adapter for the shaker and a windshield garmin unit for when you need to navigate.

p.s. i have heard the d3 gps needs time to learn itself, so the review above may change and/or improve over time. in addition, if you have sattelite radio, ipod, blue tooth(sp?), and want a back up camera all at the same time, this is the unit for you.
